A calligraphy by Shen Zhaonian given to Xian Zhou. It has a signature, 2 seals, and a dedication. It is on paper and has a silk backing and a wooden dowel.

Provenance: From the estate of Ai Xian Zhou (1890-1955). Mr. Ai was a pioneer of higher education in China during the early 20th century, as well as a renowned psychologist. He was a professor of psychology and a dean of the College of Education at China Central University. He was also appointed to various leadership positions in the Department of Education in the Nationalist government of the 1930s and 1940s.
