Pair of porcelain bowls, China. Tao Kuang mark (1820-1850) and of the period. Famille rose decoration of sericulture (silk production) 4" diameter.
From a descendant of St. Louis, Missouri industrialist/civic leader and philanthropist William Keeney Bixby. Bixby retired at the age of 48 in 1905 and pursued his collecting passions including many trips to China, where the porcelain we are offering were purchased.
