**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture (Balsas culture), modern-day Mexico, ca. 700 to 200 BCE. A fine string-cut mace head, crafted from a mottled green hardstone, with grooves for securing onto a wooden shaft, with a very abstract animal form. Mace heads like this are extremely rare from this area! Size: 2.875" L x 1.5" W x 2" H (7.3 cm x 3.8 cm x 5.1 cm).
