after FERDINAND BARBEDIENNE (French 1810-1892) A BRONZE SCULPTURE, "The Fates," a 20th century reproduction of a neoclassical sculpture of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, reclining into the arms of Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, holding a spindle, their robes in a wet style indicating fine cloth with button sleeves and wearing sandals. The subject matter is based on the original "The Fates" sculpture in marble by Phidias (480-430 BC) housed in the Parthenon. The base has a medallion stamp, "Reduction Mechanique A. Collas Revette." Height: 14" Width: 27" Depth: 13 1/2"
Condition
Some dust debris within the crevices, some occasional patina spots, and expected patina throughout, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
