Antique wooden toboggan that was owned and used by John F. Kennedy in his childhood, with the initals "JFK" written on it. Approximately 60'' long.

JFK would have used this toboggan while he was living on the five-and-a-half acre Kennedy estate in Bronxville, New York, in the late 1920s. Kennedy would have been around 12 years old at the time, an athletic and active young boy who was a member of the local Boy Scouts and took dance lessons (grudgingly). Full of boyish energy, the young future President probably loved sledding on this toboggan with his siblings and friends in suburban Bronxville.

The superintendent of the Kennedy family estate in Bronxville at the time when JFK was growing up eventually ended up with this toboggan. He worked there for many years and left the Kennedy home in the 1940s. The superintendent then gave the toboggan to the family of the current consigner - who was a coworker of his - in the late 1940s.
