Description
This lot consists of the oblong quarto art book, 'Epstein: Seventy-Five Drawings' (London: J. Saville & Co. Ltd., 1929). This volume is a scarce, signed limited edition, being copy number 190 out of 220 printed, 200 of which were for sale. The volume is signed by Jacob Epstein under the limitation notice.
This volume is bound in full vellum, with title printed in stamped black (or dark navy) lettering to the front cover and spine. Each of the 75 drawings occupies a plate, with a list of the drawings and their titles at the front of the volume.
Sir Jacob Epstein (10 November 1880 – 19 August 1959) was a British sculptor who helped pioneer modern sculpture. He often produced controversial works which challenged taboos on what was appropriate subject matter for public artworks. He also made paintings and drawings, and often exhibited his work (courtesy of Wikipedia).

Condition
This volume displays minor external wear, with boards slightly bowed, and very minor soiling to the vellum. The binding is sound, with small tears to the paste-downs near the crown of the spine. Minor soiling can be seen to the endpapers, with a very faint moisture markings to the front endpaper. The interior is largely clean and bright, with only very minor rubbing to the verso of some plates.
