Description
The shaped, thick plaque is carved to one side with a tiger in a rocky landscape looking to a dragon in flight above. The reverse is carved with a four character inscription in seal script reading 'fang yun X hui' with two seals reading 'wen' and 'wan', all within a rocky border below lingzhi sprays. With a hole for suspension to the top.The jade is of an even pale tone.
Catalogue notes: the symbolism of a dragon and a tiger represents the elements of 'yin' and 'yang'.
Condition: The plaque is in overall good condition, apart from minute nicks to the extremities and surface wear consistent with age.
The upper edge very slightly polished.
Origin: China
