Carved mahogany Renaissance Revival Herschede tall case clock in the style of R.J. Horner, having a pierce carved arched crest centering a cabochon flanked by angels and flowers, above a gadrooned molding surmounting a glazed door opening to a dial with a silvered chapter ring having applied Arabic numbers, pierced hands, and two chime dials, with gold scrollwork in the center as well as the corners, topped by a landscape moon phase dial, the face flanked by carved griffin supports, above a case with a door having a carved Northwind mask above an oval glazed opening revealing nine tubular bells and a brass pendulum, flanked by high relief carved mermaids with double twisting tails atop acanthus plinths, resting on a paneled base carved with a sleeping putto, scrollwork, and birds, above a gadrooned plinth, the whole rising on melon carved compressed bun feet, 116"h x 31"w x 18"d.
