Description
Greece, Hellenistic, ca. 3rd to 2nd century BCE. A finely carved terracotta female head, most likely representing a goddess, perhaps Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, wearing a diadem with her wavy hair parted in the center, her head slightly tilted, and her visage presenting a tranquil attitude. A lovely example mounted upon a black stone stand. Size: 2.625" L x 2.5" W x 3.625" H (6.7 cm x 6.4 cm x 9.2 cm); 6.75" H (17.1 cm) on included custom stand.
