Description
CHESTER CO., PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE PITCHER, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with beaded neck ring, rounded rim, strap handle, and pronounced foot. Brushed cobalt horizontal flower and leaves decoration flanked by dropped feathers, additional feathers to neck and spout, additional cobalt at handle terminals. Attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA. Circa 1865. 9 1/4" H, 5" D rim.
Undamaged. Several small kiln scars to left side of body, as made.
