DESCRIPTION: Donald MacLaughlin (Massachusetts/Canada, 1876-1938). Two etchings on paper. Each with a wooden frame with mat and glass. Includes: 1) 1914 landscape etching. Signed lower right in pencil. Signed and dated lower left in plate. 11-1/2" x 9-1/2". Overall with frame and mat 21-1/2" x 17-1/2". 2) Etching depicting a cityscape. Signed lower right in pencil. 4-1/8" x 2-5/8". Overall with frame and mat 18-1/2" x 15-1/2". PROVENANCE: From the collection of Dr. Beate A. Schiwek (1943-2016), Chambersburg, PA. Dr. Schiwek was the Dean and Chief Academic Officer at Felician College in Lodi, NJ, Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA and Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. While at Felician, she became the first dean of a private college to serve as National President of the Council of Colleges at Arts & Sciences. MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITION: Minor wear to frame. Minor undulation and toning.
