DESCRIPTION: Donald MacLaughlin (Massachusetts/Canada, 1876-1938). Two drawings on paper. Includes: 1) Graphite on paper featuring a harbor scene. 12-1/2" x 9-3/8". Overall with frame and mat 22-1/2" x 18-1/2". Wood frame with mat and glass. 2) Etching on paper featuring a bridge. Signed and dated in plate 1927 upon the lower left. Signed in pencil lower right. 10-1/8" x 7-3/4". Overall with frame and mat 21" x 17". PROVENANCE: From the collection of Dr. Beate A. Schiwek (1943-2016), Chambersburg, PA. Dr. Schiwek was the Dean and Chief Academic Officer at Felician College in Lodi, NJ, Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA and Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. While at Felician, she became the first dean of a private college to serve as National President of the Council of Colleges at Arts & Sciences. MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITITION: Toning and minor undulation to paper. Minor wear to frames.
