AUGUSTA CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA FEDERAL WALNUT WRITING STAND / TABLE, rectangular two-board top nicely chamfered to underside of overhang, above a single dovetailed drawer, beaded drawer and skirt, raised on delicate ring-turned legs terminating in tiny feet. Poplar secondary wood, original oval drop-bail brass. Outstanding original dry surface. Circa 1820. 29 1/2" H, 30 1/2" W, 22 1/4" D.
Excellent as-found condition, short crack and normal wear to top, lacking lock.
