Pre-Columbian, South America, Colombia, Narino, ca. 1250 CE. Beautiful and musical too, this finely made Narino pottery ocarina was modeled in the elegant shape of a seashell and meticulously decorated with an incised register of three adorable monkeys, all in vivid hues of red and beige. Perforations through one end for suspension. A fabulous Pre-Columbian wind musical instrument! Block stand. Size: 2.5" H (6.4 cm); 4.25" H (10.8 cm) on included custom stand.
