Description
Vivian Church Hoyt, American-Wisconsin, 1880-1957, four early oils on boards of dolls, the two named "Ida Mae" with ownership including that of the older artist Maud Maple Miles and "Rosie" owned by a Mrs. Wallis of Delavan WI, then both apparently owned by a Mrs Hulbert. Ida Mae is inscribed "Bo Doll" and signed Vivian Church lower left, Rosie not obviously signed. The two small sketches initialed and described, possibly later as initialed VCH, her married name after 1904. NOTE: the artist became known for impressionist floral still lives, but later achieved recognition because of her expressionist pastels.
