FRANCE, 19TH CENTURY A French neoclassical ormolu bronze figure of a Melusine. Contrary to the fourteenth century French Folklore, the twin tailed mermaid is depicted here as a man kneeling and blowing a conch shell. Notice the intricate cast details of his defined abdomen and scales. The figure is mounted on a white marble base with ormolu beading, further mounted on a green marble plinth.

Dimension: Sculpture measures 3" tall on white marble base, 4" tall including green marble base, 3 3/4" diameter at green base.
