Note:
Achim Moeller has noted that in 1906 the artist went to Paris with his wife Julia and was captivated not only by the towering medieval cathedrals and churches, but also the more mundane, lived in simple weathered houses.
The same fascination seems to have stayed with him whilst in Weimar in April 1906. The artist has beautifully captured the fluidity and organic nature of these simple homes.
