Description
A Russian gilded silver, cloisonne enamel, and cut glass scent bottle, Saint Petersburg, circa 1908-1917. The square bottle with convex walls cut all over with a pattern of diamonds and stars, the screw on lid with cushion top, the top centered with a translucent red flower head within stylized floral swags, with white beaded border and a band of alternating green and blue lappets. The Cyrillic retailer's marks overstriking those of the maker, but the combination of translucent red and alternating blue and green lappets occurs quite frequently among items produced in the Ovchinnikov workshop. 1511-010. Height: 2 3/4 in. (6.9 cm).
