Description
A set of seven Armorial plates and a rim soup bowl from the wedding service of Emperor Alexander II and Grand Duchess Yurievskaya, E. Gallee, France, circa 1880. Each piece is of circular shape with a scalloped rim, painted at the well with the Yurievsky coat of arms, with gilded highlights and a Cyrillic slogan, "Za Veru Tsarya I Otechestva", within a cobalt blue border decorated with burnished gold strapwork. Stamped factory mark underneath, "Depot Central, E. Gallee, 43 R. Bonaparte" within a circle. Very little wear to the decoration; overall, good condition. 10" diameter. Eight pieces total.
