Gilt 8th Infantry Hat Insignia In Choice Mint New Quality
c. 1870 American Indian Wars Period, Gilt 8th Infantry Hat Insignia with its original paper wrap, Choice Mint New.
Superb New in quality this original Gold Gilt 8th Infantry Hat Insignia measures about 2.5” long x 1.25” tall and is fully ingtact with its attaching button on the back. Appears to have its original thin wove paper wrap with it since made. Timeline during the Era of Indian Wars was 1877-1891. A very flashy, gorgeous Mint condition insignia.
Formed prior to Indian Wars
The Eighth Regiment of Infantry was organized under the immediate supervision of its colonel—William J. Worth—who established the first regimental headquarters at West Troy, N. Y., in July, 1838.
