Description
Maps produced by the Geographical Services division of the British army. Most of these maps are 25 x 35, plus or minus a half inch in either dimension. All are linen-backed. Most are typical topographic maps with terrain (by contour lines), towns, woods, roads, etc.
Belgium. Hazebrouck 5A. Scale 1:100,000; contour intervals 10 metres. Ordnance Survey 1915. Front panel has "O.S. Barlow" in black ink.
Second copy of Hazebrouck, edition 2, but this one is taller than it is wide - very unusual for these maps. The upper third is mostly water, route of one of the telegraph cables marked in the sea.
Belgium. Valenciennes 12. Edition 2. Scale 1: 100,000; contour interval 10 metres. (British) Geographical Services, Ordnance Survey 1916.
France. Edition 7b (Local). Sheet 57C N.E. Scale 1:20,000. Trenches revised to August 20, 1918. With markings for "170th Inf. Bde.," "5th Inf. Bde.," "Guards," Plus divisions. German trenches in blue; British in red. 22.75 x 33 in.
