19th C. French Bronze Sculpture signed L. Madrassi - H 11.5" X L 10" X W 4.5" =========== About Artist: Luca Madrassi ( 8 June 1848 in Tricesimo - 1919 in Paris ) is an artist sculptor French of Italian origin of the xix th century . He began his artistic studies in Rome before studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris , where his teacher is Pierre-Jules Cavelier . He then joined the studio of Carrier-Belleuse . Between 1876 and 1880 was Madrassi practitioner Gustave Doré , this collaboration can explain the similarities between the works of Carrier-Belleuse and Golden 1 . He exhibited at the Salon of the Society of French Artists in Paris from 1879 . He received honorable mentions on several occasions ( 1881 , 1882 , 1883 and 1885 ) and a third class medal in 1896 . He obtained French nationality and became a member of the Society of French Artists in 1890 . He also exhibited at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts in 1896.
