Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Iron Age, ca. 1st millennium BCE. A lovely pair of terracotta redware bowls from the ancient Holy Land. The first vessel has a short concave foot, an upturned bell-shaped body, a shallow interior cavity, and a collared rim. The larger vessel has a miniscule circular base, rounded sides, a deep interior cavity, and a very thin rim. Both vessels display rich deep-red hues and are quintessential examples of everyday Holy Land pottery. Size of largest: 6.5" Diameter (16.5 cm).
Provenance: private Orange County, California, USA collection, acquired before 2000
