1795 Treaty of Greenville, Ohio Indian Peace Medal; Indian peace medals refer to ovular or circular medals awarded to tribal leaders throughout colonial America and early United States history, primarily made of silver or brass and ranging from one to six inches in diameter. Medals were often perforated and worn suspended around the neck of the recipient. This Greenville medal weighs 98 grams, silver metal; both sides of the medal are engraved with the American Eagle with arrows, laurel wreath with E Pluribus Unum on a wreath above the eagle's head; along the bottom is inscribed TREATY of GREENVILLE * 3rd August 1795.
