Native American, Southwestern US, Salado, ca. 1200 to 1450 CE. A pretty ceramic bowl with its exterior painted earthy red and its interior decorated with dense black-on-white patterns of interlocking steps and tightly defined lines. The exacting nature of the motif is a good demonstration of the skill of these ancient artisans, who were likely women in this society. Size: 6.9" W x 3.9" H (17.5 cm x 9.9 cm)

Condition
Repaired from three or four multiple pieces, with overpainting just along the crack lines. Very nice preservation of motifs, with light signs of wear.
