Description
Classic 19th century majolica pottery pitcher is decorated with scallop shells and seaweed that encircle the entire body with colorful green and pink glazes. Stamped on the underside with Etruscan Majolica mark of Griffin, Smith and Hill, along with various numbers and letters. Good condition. Measures 5 inches high x 7 inches from handle to spout. The largest and best known of the American majolica manufacturers was Griffin, Smith and Hill of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
