PRESSED DOLPHIN HEXAGONAL BASE CANDLESTICK, colorless, medium-lipped hexagonal socket with lower extension, raised on a small dolphin standard and concave-sided hexagonal base with two pairs of concentric rings underneath, wafer construction. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1855-1870. 6 3/4" H, 4 1/8" DOA base.
Excellent condition overall with a chip to the tip of the dolphin's tail, scattered roughness/flaking to the base edge, probably as made. Minute roughness to the socket edge, as made.
Literature: Parallels Barlow/Kaiser - The Glass Industry in Sandwich, Vol. 4, p. 64, fig. 4051.
Provenance: Property from a Minnesota collector.

Condition
