A PAIR OF SECOND FRENCH EMPIRE NEOCLASSICAL BRONZE MOUNTED NOIR BELGE MARBLE URNS, REIGN OF NAPOLEON III (1852-1870), in the Neo Grec taste, the circular gadrooned bronze rims over a relief bronze mounted neck with a repeating bead and floral guilloche motif, above a stepped molded edge, over a black tapered body carved with relief lobes, each centering a mounted ormolu string of tapering bellflower blooms, flanked by two elongated looped handles issuing from shield form Minerva masks, the whole raised on a tapered, scrolling palmette and petal relief motif socle, terminating in a stepped square base, fronted by carved fluting above an oval medallion within incised reserves, ending in chamfered square bronze mounted feet, both of the bases inscribed with numbers 8292 and 4103. Some dust debris, wax residues, patina, and rubbing to black paint on ormolu, mild surface soil and scratches, one with sticker residue at back, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
