Description
AN EARLY AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE STYLE MAHOGANY DROP LEAF PEMBROKE TABLE, POSSIBLY NEW ENGLAND, 18TH/19TH CENTURY, the rectangular top flanked by two rectangular drop leaves, above a wide skirt, fronted by a single drawer, on square legs with interior chamfers, joined by an "X" form stretcher pierced with lemon and spade motifs. Height: 28 1/2" Width: 18" Depth: 32 7/8" NOTE: Secondary wood, oak and cedar.
Condition
Various repairs throughout, mostly on stretcher. Dark staining on the top and some surface scratches. Chips and dents mostly on legs. Drawer base interior and rails are cedar, and likely not original. Traces of yellow paint throughout. Varnish applied.
