The first of four lots in this sale comprising three paintings as well as a fourth miniature painting that was a gift from the artist, the miniature offered with a collector archive of McDuff ephemera including Wally Findlay, Venable and Venable Neslage Galleries literature.
McDuff III, Frederick Hale (American French, 1931-2011): The Tuileries, a Paris Garden Landscape with Figures, oil on canvas, 16 x 22 inches, 23.5 x 29.5 x 1.875 inches framed, signed lower left, titled with original, period or vintage inscription on stretchers verso. Gessoed frame with painted liners.
Provenance:
Private collection of a retired manager of a well known Dupont Circle, Washington, D.C. business whose clients included the National Gallery of Art and the State Dept., name of business and individual withheld by request.

Condition
Very sound original estate discovery condition, no craquelure, even surface dirt, a few stray embedded brush hairs. Minor scattered frame wear.
