Description
**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Greece, Corinthia, ca. 6th century BCE. A squat pottery aryballos (used for holding scented oils and perfumes) of a classic globular form with a flat, circular rim and a single strap handle. The body was once decorated with a series of intricate designs in black and red paint, now faded, though the neck still displays a faint radiating linear design around its circumference. A beautiful example! Size: 2" H (5.1 cm).

Provenance: private Schroeder collection, Boca Raton, Florida, USA, acquired before 1970
