Unusual French Provincial Louis XV Style Carved Oak Bonnetiere, 19th c., the arched ogee crown over a floral carved arched door with a long iron escutcheon and iron fiche hinges above two lower drawers, on scrolled cabriole legs joined by an arched skirt, H.- 85 1/2 in., W.- 32 in., D.- 18 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Crown separated but present, 2 inch crack on left, 15 inch crack on left leading to separation across crown and separation at the joint on the right. Slight chips to relief carving, looks to be repaired at right. Panel below with cluster of fleabites, surface staining and discoloration, separation crack running the full length of the panel appears to have been repaired based on glue inside door. Left side with separation crack running full length of panel. 1/8 inch stain above drawers. Back left leg with splintering wood.
