Description
Rome, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. Expertly carved from a bovine bone, a stunning depiction of a goddess donning luxurious folds of drapery over her left shoulder and a polos crown upon her wavy coiffure. A lovely bust rendered in classical style, her beautiful oval face sensitively modeled so as to attain a naturalistic visage with her rounded forehead, large, almond-shaped eyes with thick upper lids, thin brows that arch gracefully and merge with the bridge of her nose, rounded chin, and bow shaped, slightly parted lips. Adding to the sculpture's allure is the lovely green hue on the surface. Custom stand. Size: 2.375" W x 3.625" H (6 cm x 9.2 cm); 4.375" H (11.1 cm) on included custom stand.
