Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, pre-Classic period, ca. 800 BCE to 100 BCE. This rare and very old, circular, squat vessel has a long, flared spout and a high bridge handle. This one is nicely painted with a cream geometric motif of what looks like a sun surrounded by stars under the handle, twin serpents below that, and then waves around the shoulder. Size: 10" W x 8.25" H (25.4 cm x 21 cm)
