Description
Alphonse-Marie Mucha (1860-1939) "Moet et Chandon" original lithographic menu in colors on paper c. 1897. Classic Art Nouveau. Signed in the plate. Commissioned by Moet & Chandon; published and printed by F. Champenois, Paris, with their credit line added to the stone lower right. The menu was one of several, done for the firm of Moet & Chandon, a wine distributor famous for fine grades of champagne. Mucha executed a number of designs which were used on menus, postcards and other publicity connected with this company. Professionally framed. In Frame measures 6 1/2"x9 1/2"x3/4. Sight 5 1/2"x8 1/2". PROVENANCE: A Private Pawleys Island SC Estate.
