Description

LARGE HARD STONE & WOODEN SCREEN:
Large screen with a wooden frame and carved wooden base. The base inside and out is carved in facing dragons surrounded by archaic patterns. The screen is a woodland and garden scene with a pair of deer in the foreground, a pair of cranes fly overhead. Designs of bamboo, boulders, flowers, and trees are made of lapis, mother of pearl, jade, agate and coral. Bordered in a pierced gold frame. The background is a gradated blue to green lacquer with a craquelure finish appropriate with age. The back is black lacquer.
