GEORGE PERFECT HARDING (BRITISH, 1780-1850) MINIATURE PORTRAIT OF AN ENGLISH NOBLEWOMAN, watercolor and ink on paper, bust-length depiction of elegant, brown-haired sitter wearing low-cut gown and pearl jewelry, signed and dated "G. P. Harding del. 1811" lower left (obscured by present matte), subject identified on backing board as Jemima Crew, Countess of Sandwich (1625-1674). Housed under glass in a 19th-century inlaid mahogany frame. 1811. 3 1/2" x 3" sight, 6 1/2" x 5 1/8" OA.
Portrait (laid down on cardstock) in very good condition with minor toning, extreme corners trimmed to accommodate placement in current frame (not visible under matte). Frame excellent with minor wear.
