JAPANESE IMARI PORCELAIN ARTICLES, LOT OF EIGHT, comprising one matching pairs of dishes, four additional dishes, and two tea bowls, all having polychrome decorations. Unmarked. Second half 19th/early 20th century. Dishes 4 3/4" to 9 1/2" D.
Five pieces undamaged, one teabowl with small chip on foot, two pieces with several minor flakes on rim. One tea bowl with several glaze flaws on the exterior.
Provenance: De-accessioned from the Reeves Collection, Washington and Lee University, and sold to benefit the Acquisitions Fund. One piece ex-collection of Benjamin F. Edwards III (B. F. Edwards).
