Circa 3000 BC. A carved limestone cylinder seal depicting a geometric design, accompanied by a museum quality impression and a typed, signed scholarly note by W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham 1970-1993, which states: The design is a pattern of hatched V-shapes with groups of three dots filling the spaces so created. From Mesopotamia or south-west Iran, c. 3000 BC. Condition very good. 4.53 grams, 29mm (1 1/8"). Property of a Mayfair, London, UK, ancient art collector; acquired in the 1970s-1980s; inventory number 61.
