Description
Football Association badge issued to Councillor A.G. Hines and believed to be for the Wolverhampton Wanderers v Everton 1893 F.A. Cup final played at the Fallowfield Stadium, by George Kenning & Son, London, old gold & red silkwork, & gold wire The old gold silk uniquely represents the playing colours of Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it is unclear why it is paired with red silk with Everton being the opposition. A badge for Wolves' other F.A. Cup Final appearance of the era, v Sheffield Wednesday in 1896, being old gold & black and dark blue & white, is offered as the following lot, so by elimination the present lot is attributed to the 1893 Final.
