Description
A GROUP OF FOUR ENGRAVED GLASS VESSELS, CIRCA 1750-1920, comprising a Marie-Jeanne-Rosalie Desarnaud-Charpentier (French 1775-1842) for l'Escalier de Cristal cut and engraved clear glass beaker, the urn form vessel with etched diamond and oval border over a continuous engraved band with a domed pavilion with love birds on a pedestal and a frolicking dog holding a beaded ring in his mouth within a wooded landscape, above a band of diamond cuts, raised on faceted stem and square plinth foot with canted corners, marked, Paris, circa 1815, height: 5 1/2", diameter: 2 7/8"; a Continental green cut to clear cased wine stem with engraved bird decoration in oval reserves, banded by interlaced bands of prism cuts, raised on clear tapering faceted air twist stem with notched cuts to the edges, the petal form foot with engraved floral sprays banded by prism cuts, gilt rim and foot, height: 7 7/8", diameter: 3"; a flint glass Jacobite style wine glass, the tapering conical bowl with three circular reserves etched with a flower blossom and a leaf centering either a "V" or blades of grass, a walking bird framed by fern leaves, and two tented pavillions on a grassy glen with flags, the reserves with scrolled supporters sandwiched between continuous leaf bands, raised on barrel form stem with ribbed discs at the top and bottom, the spreading foot with a wreath of leaves at the edge, height: 6 1/2", diameter: 3"; and a Steuben small Gold Ruby cut to clear vase, the ovoid bowl with four oval reserves engraved with a man riding a horse, partridges, a wooded glen, and a dog amongst trees, linked by etched laurel swags pendant from rosettes, with oval slice cuts at the bottom of the bowl, raised on clear faceted hour glass form stem on square plinth foot with canted corners, model 6183, acid etched mark, height: 4 1/2", diameter: 2 3/4".
Condition
All in overall good condition with no evidence of chips, nicks, or cracks to the glass, the engraved decoration on the Jacobite style glass rather amatuerish and possibly added at a later date.
