after JOSEPH EMMANUEL ZWIENER (German/French 1848-1895) A LATE FRENCH BELLE ÉPOQUE STYLE ORMOLU MOUNTED INLAID BOXWOOD AND MAHOGANY MARBLE TOP COMMODE, FIRST HALF 20TH CENTURY, the serpentine highly figured gray marble top with canted corners, over three quadruple crotched, string inlaid, bombé drawers, centering rocaille flourish escutcheons and leafy drawer pulls, opening to pink velvet lined interiors, flanked by bombé, quadruple crotched, string inlaid sides and cabriole stiles, mounted with acorn and oak leaf flowering figures of nymphs or sprites, seating on volutes, issuing flower blooms and leafy chutes, terminating in leafy encrusted cabochon, and lion's paw feet mounts, joined by an arched skirt, centering an ormolu mounted rocaille flourish. A few mild veneer cracks, mild surface wear, some patina on ormolu, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
