Description
Iron tsuba of round form decorated with a plum tree branch with blossoms and a hatchet in openwork. Beautiful, though unsigned, Higo Hayashi school, 18th-19th century (late Edo period). Thick strong iron, very well forged. Delicate carving on the plum blossoms. Nihon Tosogu Kenkyu Kai (NTKK) certificate signed by Makio Saruta, author of Tosogu no bi. In a wooden box.
