Description
Scarce and Original 1936 Distinguished Service Medal awarded by the 1936 Cleveland Great Lakes Centennial Exposition. The field provided for the recipients name is blank with a small scratch. 2-1/4" brass medal measures and 5mm thick. This medal depicts the landing of Moses Cleaveland and his welcome by the Native peoples. Around the periphery is "FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE GREAT LAKES EXPOSITION 1836-1936." The reverse depicts the Great Lakes and compass, the logo of the Great Lakes Exposition with "CLEVELAND GREAT LAKES EXPOSITION CENTENNIAL". Award medals are very scarce!
