Circa 1946 - Post WWll US Soldier's Photo Journal of His Life in Occupied Japan American Soldier vernacular photography Post WWll. One American Soldier's Photo Journal of His Life in Occupied Japan. A 7" x 8.5" photo album containing 45 neatly mounted photos depicting a comfortable GI life in and around camp and town. The album centers on, Oshimi Machiko, apparently this GI's "Mama-San" and her child, and local women and other American GIs. Depicted is a comfortable and welcoming environment for these Americans in post war Japan. The soldier's family name is McCarthy, and he is possibly from Illinois. Photos range in size from 3" x 4" - 1" x 1.5". The album is overall in very good condition.
