A pair of square famille rose brush washers from the Republic Period. The brush washers have white ground interiors and turquoise ground exteriors. The bodies are painted with lotus flower motifs and each of the corners has a shou character and a bat. They both stand on four feet and have a 4-character Hong Xian seal mark on the bottom, but is not of the period.

Dimensions are: 2 1/2 inches tall X 4 7/8 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There are some glaze chips and rust spots. They are in otherwise good condition.

Provenance: From a collector's estate in McLean, Virginia.
