BRITISH HISTORICAL TRADES AND RELATED VOLUMES, LOT OF THREE, including "The General Shop Book: Or, the Tradesman's Universal Director", 1753, printed for C. Hitch and L. Hawes, et al, London, with one fold-out map titled "A Correct Chart of the English and St. George's Channels, with the Adjacent Coasts", lacking most of second fold-out map, leather boards and ribbed spine; and Richard Neve, "The City and Country Purchaser's and Builder's Dictionary: Or, the Complete Builder's Guide", 1736, printed for B. Sprint, D. Browne, J. Osborn, S. Birt, H. Lintot, and A. Wilde, London, stated third edition, "The Third Edition, Corrected and Improved throughout", engraved frontispiece titled "The principal Front and Plan of the Apartments of the Earl of Burlington's House at Chiswick", leather boards and ribbed spine.
The first example in good condition overall, with moderate wear to boards/spine, particularly to edges and corners, the corners bumped and frayed, interior with expected toning, some scattered foxing or stains, present fold-out map with a significant stain and 1 3/4" L tear along one fold-line, lacking most of second fold-out map, as described; the second example in as-found condition, structurally poor, with significant wear, tears, losses, etc. to boards/spine, split in half along spine, with each half still attached to its section of binding, except four pages between the halves detached but present, the interior remarkably clean, very legible, with expected toning and some minor foxing; remaining example in poor condition, significant wear and losses to boards/spine, split in half along spine, lacking title page, otherwise appears complete, moderate toning and some stains/foxing throughout.
