AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, oil on canvas, smiling, bearded gentleman, no signature located, on likely original stretchers. Housed in a period molded giltwood frame. Discovered in Richmond, VA. Second quarter 19th century. 20 3/4" x 23 1/4" sight, 35 1/2" x 30 1/4" OA.
Moderate craquelure throughout, small puncture at figure's head, minor inpainting to clothing and background. Frame with minor wear.
