Hounded under glass in the original black-painted shadow-box frame with ripple-molded edges. Late 18th/early 19th century. 8 1/4" SQ OA.

Catalogue Note: William Pitt (1759-1806) was the first elected Prime Minister of Great Britain. Elected in 1783 at the age of 24, he is the youngest person to hold the position. Pitt helped strengthen the British economy after the War of Independence. He aided in the passage of restrictions on England's gold reserves through the issue of paper money, the first pound notes.
