SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA CLASSICAL CARVED MAHOGANY SOFA, scrolling arms with carved rosettes ,the whole raised on legs ending in carved paw feet. Old surface with warm color. Probably Staunton, Virginia. Circa 1825. 33 3/4" H, 90 1/2" L, 25" D.
Good overall condition, with old repairs, some looseness to the end of the carved rosette, some loss to the veneer.
Provenance: From the estate of Lee S. Cochran, Staunton, VA. Purportedly part of the original furnishings of the Archibald Stuart House, Staunton, VA.
